Today is our last day in Bombay. We went to a gallery in a Muslim area. It was interesting to walk through the lanes;  Google maps guided us  directly to the art gallery we were looking for: The Mumbai Reading Room. They had a very interesting mixed media exhibit of a video of a woman caressing various pillars (very phallic indeed) and 2 large metal constructions representative of the outline of pillars. It was interesting, and we sat and watched the video for a while.

We then went to the Jehangir Art Gallery, which had several different shows going on by various Indian Artists. We purchased a water color by Ramesh Jhawar  of a street scene of Ahmedabad. The artist was going to ship the painting to us, but at the last minute simply took it off the wall wrapped in a single layer of bubble wrap. How I am going to get the painting home is going to be a challenge. We took it in a taxi back to the Taj and they said they would prepare it so we can safely carry it onto our plane back to the States. We will see what arrives.

After a cooling Nimbu Pani, we returned to our room where we packed our luggage. Having a few hours left we then went down to the pool to relax. We will get picked up at 6pm and our driver will take us to meet Kashmera and Krushna for drinks and dinner, before heading out to the airport to begin our 4:15am flight from Mumbai to Los Angeles. It is long time in hours and miles travelled to return to our house.

We were picked up at the Taj at 6PM and it took 2 hours to reach Krushna and Kashmera's place in Andheri. The traffic was bumper to bumper the entire way. We were pleased however that part of the reason for the heavy traffic is the Metro construction. When completed it should really expedite transportation in Mumbai.

We had drinks at Krushna and Kashmera's and were joined by Krushna's very hunky cousin Rishaab who lives with them and is Kashmera's co-star in the new movie she wrote, directed and is starring in. We then went out for Chinese food while our driver waited to take us to the airport. After dinner we returned to their condo, where Cathy and I took a nap. We were awakened at 1:30am for the ride to the airport. We are all checked in awaiting our 4:15am flight to Dubai and then onward to home. It will be exhausting, but coming to India is worth the effort for us.
